Birthdays, LO's and Hybrid!!!

Wow, another busy week, flown by while I blinked and now it's friday again!  The kids are all
recovered, and playgroup, swimming, kinder and childcare has resumed.  But, horror of horror's - now Laban has it....say no more (in case he reads this LOL)!!!
Yesterday was my birthday - 34 years old.  I feel no different to when I was about 28, but hopefully I'm a little wiser. I still have fun, learn, love and laugh, can't ask for much more than that!  I got my beautiful iMac - so, so, so, so nice!  The screen is amazing, so big and clear, it runs so fast and quietly and I love it!  Still working out a few differences in the platforms, but getting there.  Also got some Pandora beads, chocolate (yum), PJ's, candles, a book called Thanks for the Mammaries (a fundraiser for Breast Cancer, will tell you more about it when I've read it) and other bits and pieces.  I'm going to the local pub tomorrow with some family and friends, so it's all good in my world! And thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes, sure makes a girl feel special!
On to business - here's a LO I did using How Does Your Garden Grow? by Kris Mazy of Scrap Warrior, available here at Digiridoo Scraps.  I also used a Sepia with Colour Photo Action by Melissa Renfro of Scrapgirls, and Fresh Foliage Brushes by Jason Gaynor.

I know I'm biased, but seriously, how beautiful is she???  Oh, that's another thing - we're toilet training at the moment! Rachel has been telling me for weeks when she needs to go and has been having dry nappies, so I bit the bullet and bought a whole lot of tiny weeny undies for her, and some more track pants, and we're doing it.  Clever little chicken has been doing a great job.

I've also posted the first part of my hybrid Project 12 at Digiridoo Scraps.  You can see the forum here, but I though I'd post the photos here as well. I'm making a Gratitude Journal, somewhere to turn when the doom and gloom gets so much you have trouble remembering the good things. I really hoping it inspires others to give Hybrid a go...

Each month will be a new idea/inspiration for the album page, with a challenge on what to use - this month the challenge is to print and use two digital papers and two digital elements.  So hopefully people join in (otherwise I might be out of a job LOL).

Well I guess I'd better get organised for the school pickup. That's another thing to share - I'm helping out on Friday mornings at Christopher's school with literacy.  At the moment I've been listening to the kids read their readers and helping where required. It's great fun!
Take care till next time xoxo

Catching up

Yes, I must be the slackest blogger alive, but seriously it's been a full on couple of weeks. First Christopher sick, then Ben and Rachel, and now me! The three kids have had ear infections ( I wish I could but antibiotics in bulk!), plus Ben and Rachel have had an awful cough. Ben's was so bad the doctor thought it was asthma and gave me asthma stuff for him, but when I went back a few days later, he said his chest was ok. But I swear I have been up every hour of the night with one or the other and I'm stuffed! You know the cotton wool head, forgetting stuff, bone tired feeling? That's me! I've even had a few naps in the afternoon given the opportunity!

So I have a few things to catch up on.

First is a fab collab kit by Color with Caryn, Scrappyweiss and Mel Hains called Make Believe. To get your freebie and the links to the other girl's freebies, this link will take you to Caryn's blog.

And here is the next piece of exciting news....

I am working on my album for my special Project 12! Well, in this case it will be Project 8 as it will take us up to the end of the year! Don't want to give too much away, but you'll be seeing more soon...

Hybrid bodysuits and Charlie's first Speed Scrap!

I have kicked off Hybrid Happy by making a couple of very cute bodysuits (babygrows, onesies as I have been told by my international friends they are also called) for my best friend's sister -in-law's baby. I used word art from Ferntree Fairies by Brianna Cox of Scrap'it Designs and transfer paper, and I'm so pleased with how they turned out. Here are the instructions on Digiridoo Scraps.

And on thursday, Charlie of Charlie's Digiscraps, hosted her very first Speed Scrap at Enchanted Studio Scraps. It was great fun and here is my LO:
I have used the amazing Urban Chic by Sarah Barber Designs, available here at Digiridoo Scraps.
I hope all the wonderful mothers who read this had a happy Mother's Day! We deserve to be spoilt! I had a great day, with some awesome gifts made by my kids! And my hubby spoilt me too of course!
